TAG HEUER

Tag Heuer was founded in 1870 in Chaux-de-Fonds in the Swiss Jura. This company has always produced chronograph and high quality sport watches; the name of this activity has ever linked to the extraordinary precision of its work. It's almost useless to talk about the link that connects this business to the word of sport: from the discovery of the first chronograph in 1882, to the production of board clocks and ultra-modern wristwatch, thought a series of historical dates that mark the record ascertained in our days.

The iconic Carrera collection needs no introduction: its was launched in 1963 and was inspired by the then owner, Jack Heuer, and from his passion for racing and especially from his love for the legendary Rally Carrera Panamericana that took place in Mexico in that period. 1960's models were characterized by a round case and a 45 degree inclined rehaut, on which the 1/5 second scale was inserted: that made the dial 2mm larger and guaranteed a better readability of the timetable. Just the legibility, combined with the linear design, contributes to decree success of a watch that could be worn with elegant suit or tracksuit!

Another Tag Heuer icon is the Monaco model, launched on market a few years later and worn by Steeve Mc Queen in the cult film dedicated to the 24 hours of Le Mans: this watch immediately caught the eye thanks to its square case anche the caliber 11, namely one of the first automatic movements with chronograph function, created thanks to the partnership between some of the most important industries of that period.
